Affordable Honeymoons Part 3 of 4

Save money on your honeymoon by knowing exactly what you want. This way, you can eliminate or limit those things and therefore expenses that you don’t need.

1. It is assumed that everyone wants romance on their honeymoon, but what about fun? If your main concern is fun such as Jamaica’s dolphin cove, snorkeling or horseback riding you might want to limit expensive food and shopping. Some all inclusive resorts can give you everything stated above with virtually unlimited food included. The down side is that it can be crowded at the pools and other activities and privacy might be hard in other than your hotel room. But if fun is at the top of your list, this may not be a problem to you.

2. Is your main concern comfort or luxury? Some cruises, hotels and resorts can offer comfortable, clean elegant large size rooms, but at a not so low price. You may also feel as if you are going to be “enjoying yourself” in the hotel half the time so why spend all that money for an all inclusive resort when you’re not even going to use it? You should consider vacation rentals such as cottages and villas. You can get a two bedroom beachfront villa in Jamaica with food inlcuded for a lower price that a luxury suite in a hotel. And yes, I’m talking about the luxury hotel suites that are not all-inclusive. Some villas even have a full staff inlcuding a maid, security and cook. Don’t get me wrong , when you add in activities you can pay just as much as you would at an all-inclusive hotel. You may not get activities like golf, sailing snorkeling and horseback riding included in the price, but if you want a laid back honeymoon with fewer activities, vacation villas may be for you and you can get a much bigger living space.

Affordable Honeymoons Part 2 of 4

One obvious way to save on honeymoons is to find a cheaper airline, but this is easier said than done. Don’t be too picky with the location of the airport. If you live less than an hour away from a secondary airport, then check out its prices. You may be suprised at how much money you save. For example if airport A has a flight to the Bahamas from City X for $365 dollars but airport B has the same for $280 then it is better to choose airline B because your gas expenses will very likely be less than the price difference between the two airports.

Don’t be so picky with the time either. Leaving at 11PM may not be ideal, but it may save you a significant amount of money.
