Have the Wedding and Reception at the Same Site

If you really want to save money on your wedding, this may be the way to go. For example, if you have the reception site seating in round table style, you can split the seating down the middle for the wedding aisle. Another way, if you like, is to split the hall in two and have the wedding on one side and the reception on the other. This not only cuts down the cost of the decoration itself, but also the cost of paying someone to set up and take down the decoration for you.

Have Your Wedding During the Off-Season

If you want a dirt cheap wedding, having your wedding in the middle of June is not the less expensive time of year. Although, these days, the wedding industry is starting to become non-seasonal, weddings are still more popular in the summer months. Try pushing your wedding back a month or two if you can stand it, and see if that brings costs down. Some wedding vendors will discount their services when business is slow, so its worth taking a look at if your budget is a little tight.

Don’t Be Cheap with Everything for your Wedding

Your wedding is one of the most memorable times of your life, if not the most memorable. One thing that you don’t want to do is cause yourself grief by hiring vendors who have prices that are too good to be true. There may be a few shiny diamonds in the rough, but they are few are far between. My father is an amateur wedding photographer who takes beautiful wedding pictures for only $250, but he is the exception the rule! Do not try to find photographers who will work that cheap. You will more than likely become disappointed and want to kill him or her. Please be careful. There are some things you’ll have to pay some decent money for, and its all worth it.
